Basil ‘Eleonora’

Ocimum bacilicum

A lovely pesto-type basil with large, cupped leaves with a slightly spicier flavor than the traditional Genovese type.



Upright, elongated stems and an open habit allow more airflow and reduce disease risk. Intermediate downy mildew resistance.

Basil prefers consistently moist, rich soil and does not tolerate drought.  To increase branching and leaf production, pinch back flower buds as they form. Harvest in early morning and store unwashed and refrigerated to avoid brown spots and wilting. Flowers are attractive to bees and make good cut flowers.
