Bean ‘Cherokee Trail of Tears’

Pole bean used both fresh as snap pods or dried for the black beans inside. Green pods are best harvested at 6″. This heirloom was carried during the infamous march and passed down generation after generation in Oklahoma.

 

 

Beans are warm season vegetables that prefer fertile well drained soil. Vining types require support from a trellis, while bush types are self-supporting.
