Broccoli ‘Calabrese’

Brassica oleracea

Italian sprouting variety known for continual harvests of tender, deep green stalks on compact plants.

Heirloom variety brought to America from Calabria, Italy in the late 1800s. Produces deep green, rich flavored stalks 5-8" in diameter over a long harvest season. After harvesting the central stalk, multiple side shoots will fill in to provide additional harvests for a longer growing season.

Broccoli is a cool season crop that grows best in the spring or fall. Prefers fertile, consistently moist, well-drained soil.
