Costmary

Tanacetum balsamita

Perennial herb used for centuries for its fragrant foliage.

As the botanical name suggests, Costmary has a scent similar to that of balsam. Its long oval silver-green leaves are serrated and have been dried and used for sachets and pot-pourri as well as for culinary and medicinal purposes. Small disk-like yellow blooms appear above the foliage in August.

Costmary prefers dryer sites in full sun.
