Lettuce ‘Green Oakleaf’

Lactuca sativa var. crispa

Butter lettuce with dark green lobed leaves resembling those of the Oak tree.

Butter lettuce variety forming loose round heads with leaves that extend up and out. Individual leaves are deeply linear and lobed like those of the Oak tree. The flavor is mild, nutty, buttery and sweet. Better heat tolerance than Romaine type lettuces.  Cut leaves small for baby greens or grow to mature heads.

Lettuce prefers moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Lettuce performs best if planted in the spring or fall seasons and is protected from direct afternoon sun.
