Pea Shoots

Pisum sativum

Tightly planted peas for harvesting the young tender shoots and tendrils.

All parts of pea plants including the blooms are edible, and these peas are sown and grown specifically for cutting the young shoots and tendrils once they reach about 6-8". Once cut, the plant will flush again for another harvest. The shoots are super crisp, sweet, tender, and pack all the flavor and feel of spring into one bite. These can even be grown in a sunny kitchen window for direct harvesting.

Variety grown:  'Oregon Sugar Pod II'.

Peas prefer well-drained soil rich in organic matter and need to be trellised when full sized.
