Dark green foliage turns dark purple, nearly black in the fall. Purplish-red blooms in September. Height 4-5'.
Andropogon will attracts birds and small mammals to the garden. Prefers average, dry to medium well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established. Tolerates air pollution and a wide range of soils and growing conditions. May self seed in the garden. Warm season grass. Deer resistant.
