Bright pink plume-like panicles adorn this clump forming Chinese Astile with bronze-green ternately compound, toothed foliage. Astilbe chinensis varieties bloom slightly later in the season and are slightly more sun tolerant than x arendsii hybrids and they can tolerate more drought, although they still much prefer consistently moist, rich soils.
