12-15" long spikes of deep violet purple accented by a yellow keel are borne on all side of the rounded clump. Secondary flower spikes extend the flower time. Height 3-4'.
Baptisia attracts bees and butterflies. Plants are long lived when established. Prefers dry to medium well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established. Tolerates poor soils. Deer and rabbit resistant.
