Carex bicknellii (Prairie Sedge)

Clumps of narrow, green foliage with oval flowers cluster that turns coppery brown in the summer. Height 18-36".

Carex attracts bees, birds and butterflies to the garden. Prefers average, dry to moist well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established. Tolerates controlled burns, soil disturbance, a variety of soils and wet areas. Cool season grass. Deer and rabbit resistant.
