Carex comosa (Bristly Sedge)

A large, tufted wetland sedge with long, lanceolate leaves. The lime green “bristles” of the seeds resemble a bottlebrush , giving the plant its name. Height 18-36".

Carex attracts birds and butterflies to the garden. Prefers moist to wet soil. Tolerates standing water and wet, mucky areas. Cool season grass. Deer and rabbit resistant.
