Very narrow, dark green, evergreen leaves forming a clump. Small sense green cluster of flowers form above the foliage. Height 6-12".
Carex attracts bees, birds and butterflies to the garden. Prefers average, dry to medium well drained soil. Tolerates heat and a wide range of soils including dry sandy areas and seasonal flooding. Drought tolerate when established. An alternative to a lawn. Will self seed profusely. Cool season grass. Deer resistant.
