Clematis texensis ‘Duchess of Albany’ (Scarlet Clematis)

This cultivar was introduced in 1894 and has been impressive to gardeners ever since. Bell-shaped blooms with recurved pointed sepals are bright pink with deep pink central bars. The vines are vigorous and quickly climb a fence or trellis or ramble through surrounding shrubs. Blooming continuously from spring to fall, this is a vine that should win a place in every garden. Pruning Group 3.
