Cone shaped, thistle like silvery blue flower heads surround feather like soft bracts over top of heart shaped, deeply toothed glossy leaves. Height 24-36".
Eryngium attracts bees and butterflies. Prefers dry, sandy well drained soils. Tolerant of hot, dry sites, and soils high in salts. The sunnier the site, the more intense the blue. Deer and rabbit resistant.
