Fragaria virginiana (Virginia Strawberry)

Custom Grow Only

A lovely native groundcover with small white blooms in April-May followed by small, tart but sweet fruits in early summer. Fruits are much smaller than the varieties typically grown for picking. An excellent option for a groundcover in native gardens, woodland gardens, slopes, and borders. Growth slows during the heat of the summer. Height 4-9".

Prefers sunny or partially shaded locations with moist, fertile, well-drained soils. Strawberries spread via runners that develop into more plants, eventually forming colonies.
