Monarda didyma (Bee Balm)

Bold, clump-forming bee balm with whorls of tubular, usually red flowers held above fragrant, minty foliage in midsummer. A classic magnet for hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies in cottage and pollinator gardens. Prefers full sun to light shade and moist, rich soils, but benefits from good air circulation to reduce powdery mildew.
