Opuntia x coloradensis (Prickly Pear)

A naturally occurring hybrid of Opuntia fragilis and Opuntia polycantha ssp. hystracina found in western Colorado and extremely cold hardy. A compact cactus spreading to about 24” wide but maintaining a low 6” height. Pads are medium green and flattened with long spines, and reddish pink blooms. As with all opuntia, a sharp draining soil is a necessity.
