Compact form of the native evergreen mat forming penstemon with deep green foliage, tinged red. Blue-violet tubular flowers with white interiors bloom along stocky flowering stems in summer. Both the stems and flowers are covered in delicate hairs that catch dew and light, leading to the common name, Hairy Beardtongue.
