Purple open-bell-shaped flowers emerge from hairy stems low to the ground in spring. As the season progresses the fern-like light green foliage grows into mounds holding attractive, fluffy, seed heads. Height 9-12".
Prefers fertile, humusy, medium moisture well drained soil. Needs constant moisture in the hot summers. May reseed then go summer dormancy. Rabbit resistant.
