Vernonia noveboracensis (New York Ironweed)

A tall clump of loosely branched clusters of tiny, fluffy, intense purple flowers. Height 4-6'.

Vernonia attracts birds and butterflies to the garden. Prefers medium to wet, well drained soil. Drought tolerate when established. May self seed in the garden. Deer resistant.
