Terms Legend
ADVANCE ORDER ONLY – A plant not routinely stocked and must be requested in advance. The first available delivery or pickup date will be communicated by Cavano’s Sales staff.
BUD & BLOOM – A fully rooted plant with attractive foliage, visible buds, and blooming flowers.
BUDDED – A fully rooted plant with attractive foliage and well-formed flower buds.
CUT BACK – A fully rooted plant with foliage that has been cut back.
DORMANT – A well-established plant that has overwintered and is still inactive or just beginning active growth.
EMERGING – A well-established plant actively growing after dormancy, but not yet large enough to be considered READY.
LANDSCAPE READY – A fully rooted plant that is ready for landscape planting with mature foliage. Exceeds READY or RETAIL READY standards.
NEWLY POTTED – A newly potted plant that is still developing roots and foliage and is not yet considered PLANTABLE.
PLANTABLE – A plant with sufficient root and top growth to be planted in the landscape but not yet considered READY.
READY – A fully rooted plant with nice foliage.
READY NICE – A fully rooted plant with very nice foliage but not yet considered RETAIL READY.
RETAIL READY – A fully rooted plant with exceptionally nice foliage.
READY SMALL – A fully rooted plant with smaller foliage that is actively growing and improving quickly.
Native Plant Status
N – United States Native Plant
A straight species native to one or more of the 48 contiguous United States.
NS – Native Selection
A selection of a native plant or a hybrid cultivar with only native parentage.
Hardiness
Hardiness is based on our nursery location in USDA Zone 7B. Plants that are not hardy to Zone 7B are designated NH (Not Hardy).
